So the main things I want to focus on is that I constantly have dreams where my grandpa who passed 6 years ago is still alive and behaving like everything is normal. In the dreams I always question in my head why he’s there but usually never speak on it and just interact with him like I usually would. In last nights dream my grandpa was holding two babies I’m assuming twins that belonged to my uncle. In real life my uncle has two daughters but in the dream he had just had two boys with his wife. We talked about how happy he seemed. Then the memory gets fuzzy but I remember after a period of time away from my family I came back to the old house I haven’t lived in for about 10 years. In this part of the dream my grandpa was hanging about as usual but something changed. I brought my mom to another room and finally asked her why we just don’t acknowledge the fact that my dead grandpa is alive and still involved with our life. Then in the dream she didn’t even understand what I was saying and said the reason we never talk about him is because she doesn’t wanna have to explain the death to my younger sister. It totally freaked me out because it implied no one sees him but me. I then told my that I see him all the time and she got super freaked out and asked how frequently and I said hundreds of times and I started to cry when I was telling her about it and as I was telling her about all this. Very slowly walking down the stairs was what I thought was my grandpa but right before I woke up I looked over at him as he got past the last step and I saw him dressed in a Michael meyers halloween outfit.
Dreams about deceased loved ones can be both comforting and unsettling. Your dream seems to combine elements of nostalgia, unresolved feelings, and perhaps a mix of subconscious processing regarding your relationship with your grandpa and the changes in your family.
Presence of Your Grandpa: Seeing your grandpa alive and behaving normally in your dreams may signify a deep longing or need for his presence in your life. It indicates a connection that remains strong, even after his passing. There may be unresolved emotions or conversations that you wish you had with him. The fact that you usually don't speak on his presence in the dreams suggests that there is a part of you trying to accept his absence.
The Twin Babies: The twin boys that your uncle has in the dream may symbolize new beginnings or changes within your family. Twins can also symbolize duality or conflicts that need balancing. Since your uncle has daughters in real life, the dream possibly signifies a role reversal or transformation happening within your family dynamics.
Returning to the Old House: This part of the dream represents revisiting past memories and experiences. It could indicate a desire to reconnect with a simpler or more secure time in your life. The house is a common symbol of the self, and returning there might suggest exploring aspects of yourself that are tied to your past.
Acknowledging Your Grandpa's Existence: When you finally confront your mom about your grandpa, it points to a deep-seated need for validation of your experiences and feelings. The fact that no one else acknowledges his presence might symbolize feelings of isolation or fear that others will not understand your perspective.
The Michael Myers Outfit: The shift to seeing your grandpa in a Michael Myers Halloween outfit as he comes down the stairs is significant. Michael Myers is often a symbol of fear or something that is being avoided. This transformation could signify a subconscious fear or anxiety that you associate with acknowledging difficult truths or emotions related to your grandpa's passing.
Overall, this dream may be urging you to confront lingering emotions regarding your grandpa's death, possibly even urging a conversation with family members to understand their perspectives. It blends feelings of nostalgia, love, fear, and transformation, reflecting a complex emotional state. Writing about your memories with your grandpa, or even discussing them with family, might bring some clarity and peace to these recurring dreams.
